Custom bikes are just what their name implies, they are purely the taste of the person who paid for it.
Second hand customs will never realise the amount of money spent on them becuase it is highly unlikely that the buyers taste is exactly the same as the original owners.
A custom bike is as individual as a fingerprint so no matter how much money is thrown at a build, when it comes to selling it, they just don't hold that initial value.
As much as I like the Capt Phil bike and admire the Mike Lavalee paintwork, it is not what I would want and for the sort of money it fetches second hand, I could build a new custom to my exact spec's.
That's just my 2 cents
