Watching biker build off the other day it was a final of two multiple champions, each had to build a bike to race on the Bonneville salt Flats.

One (Goldhammer) was cannibalising a sports bike and used the heavily modified frame with a custom 250 engine, the other (whose name escapes me,an asian guy who I have seen before) chose to build a rather beautiful tribute to VINCENT, fitting an $80,000 handbuilt vincent engine, once complete the "vincent" looked gorgeous the other although very well enginered looke more the racer with a curved radiator, and to my surpise outperformed the Vincent and set a new speed record for its class. The "Vincent" being in a class of its own set a record also although wobbled at 90 -100mph.

I think the amazing thing is the Goldhammer bike didn't even have  aself srt mechanism and had to be push started, didn't really undertsand the reason unless the builder was shaving off every ounce of weight.

The racer won the competion, although my vote would have gone to the tribute to the "Vincent", awesome looking machine.

He does build some lovely bikes, having said that so does Goldammer but I didn't like the racer thingy he built.
